Anna Holoniewska – modern business photoshoot

Contemporary personal branding photography has undergone a major transformation. Just a few years ago, stiff, formal portraits against plain backgrounds were the norm. Today, we are increasingly moving away from rigid conventions in favor of authenticity, storytelling, and consciously building a personal brand through imagery. A great example of this approach is my recent branding session with psychologist Anna Holoniewska.

At the planning stage, one key question guided the process: who is the person being photographed, and how do they want to be perceived? In the case of a psychologist, values such as trust, calmness, empathy, and professionalism are especially important. Our goal, therefore, was not just to create “nice photos,” but to consciously craft a professional image of a warm and empathetic person.

We opted for a modern aesthetic: editorial lighting, contemporary interiors, and a soft, neutral color palette. Instead of classic poses, we focused on natural frames, subtle movement, and in-between moments. This gave the images a sense of life and authenticity. Anna wasn’t “posed” for the camera she was captured in her natural way of being.

Details played a huge role: soft fabrics, warm light streaming through the window, books and notes in the background. Every element was carefully considered, yet nothing felt accidental or overdone. Contemporary personal branding photography is all about balance between aesthetics and truth.

Equally important was the way we worked together. I believe that today’s photographer is not just a technician, but also a partner in the creative process. Conversation, understanding needs, and creating a comfortable atmosphere are just as important as camera settings. In this session, building a space where Anna could feel at ease was essential and it directly translated into the final result.

A modern image is not about perfection, but about consistency. The photos should reflect personality, values, and the nature of one’s work. Together with Anna, we created material that not only looks good, but above all communicates what matters most: authenticity and professionalism.
