Postcard from Athens

Hello fellow Blogreaders!
As one of my New Year’s resolutions, I’m coming back to blogging regularly. I have a few of overdued works to show you, so the beginning of the year will probably be quite intense. The first thing I want to show you is a little photoshoot I did with my Muse during our trip to Greece in November. Our background was the National Garden (Εθνικός Κήπος), placed in the very center of Athens. Since we started shooting in the late afternoon, and the gardens are heavily overgrown, we only had 15 minutes of the golden hour to make use of. I photographed everything with 5d mk4 + Canon 85mm f1.2 II L. You can see the effects below, and meanwhile let me tell you a little about the capital of Greece. There are many things in Athens that stole my heart: the old town (gorgeous little narrow lanes with plenty of cosy cafes), the monuments of Acropolis (along with the Olympic Stadium it’s just breathtakingly huge!), but most of all the kitchen (Mousaka, Gemista, Pastitsio – you have to try these!). There are a few bonus photos of the city at the end of this post, hope you enjoy them.

Automobile photoshoot for naszeklasyki.pl

Hello fellow Blogreaders!
Today I’m going to show you something completely different. Not only was it my first automobile session, but it also consisted of two kinds of photos: catalogue and outdoors. The whole thing was for naszeklasyki.pl. It took us 2 days to take all the pictures. The first day we did the catalogue part, shooting in a hangar containing a whole collection of brilliant classic cars (and a motorcycle!). The second day we were shooting outdoors, a few kilometers from our base. Since some of the vehicles were transported by car carriers, it was quite a logistic challenge. The photos below are only a small part of the whole photoshoot, it consisted of a very large number of photos so I chose some of my favourites. At the end of this post you’ll find the lighting description.

No Future – Lookbook – Katarzyna Fabiańska

Hello fellow Blogreaders!

Last weekend I made a lookbook photoshoot, where I tried to break the majority of the rules I stick to everyday. I used an ultrawide lens with the focal length of 16mm (full frame), plus I took the photos from a frog perspective, often framing at the joints, I wasn’t keeping the horizon straight, breaking vertical and horizontal lines. So as you can see, I broke most of the good photography rules, and I was having tons of fun while doing so. Not only did it give the photos much energy, but it also made me realize how limited we are in our creative work when we try to keep all the rules, and how liberating and fun rejecting them is.

Sensual photoshoot with Dominika

Hello fellow Blogreaders!
Some time ago I had a chance to realize a sensual photoshoot with Dominika. The photoshoot consisted of 3 stylizations Dominika prepared. She was also responsible for the hair and make up – a real one-man band! The whole session took place in Studio Gwiazda. You can find the technical stuff at the end of this post.

Body Challenge – Cover photohoot with Honorata Dziel

Hello fellow Blogreaders!
Today’s post is going to be short, but to the point. I’ve recently had the pleasure of realizing my first cover session for Body Challenge magazine with super friendly Honorata Dziel – an editor of the magazine, and the owner of Wielkopolskie Centrum Terapii Naturalnych. We went for a contemporary, strong sport style, which combined with a strong personality of the model resulted in a characteristic, powerful portrait. At the end of the post there’s a description of the lighting and a happy backstage, hope you enjoy it.
